Update on Today's Procedure

Well, just got back from the pain block procedure, so far so good. They said you
will feel as though you were kicked in the back by a mule. I do!! (But hungry!
As they were wheeling me back to my room on the gurney, Frank peeled off at the
food court and got me a nice veggie bagel which I just devoured! Yummy)

We are in a wait-and-see mode to see if the block was successful. If it worked-
no pain!!

Don't know if I am discharged today or tomorrow. Don't know when chemo
re-starts. So, moment by moment at this point.

Oh boy oh boy and thank you so much for your prayers!!! And do you know right
there on the "table", I smiled b/c the "guess" was right--they prepped me and
started up RIGHT at 11:00 am! Prayer time! I could feel it. Just surrounded by
love and a peacefulness as they were sticking those needles and fluids in me.

Wow, it is so great to be so loved. The more I think about it, isn't prayer the
most loving thing we can do for someone -- just lifting them up to the presence
of God and putting Him in control. Hmmm lots to think about.

  8. Carol,
God is good all the time. There is a mighty song with that title that was sung at a recent Women of Faith conference that filled the Verizon center with worship; it permeated to the very center of our bones. I know you are feeling the presence of our Holy God through each and every day. He is so good to bring your name before each of us throughout the day...and even into the early morning hours. Your name is ringing in each of our ears. Prayers are being said for you and Frank as you persevere and wait on the Lord. I was reading in Oswald Chambers' 'My Utmost for His Highest'; he encourages us to be dependent on God's presence. He used Isaiah 40:31 for his reference. I however, prayed Isaiah 40:29-31, " He gives strength to the weary, and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tried and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." As you lean on our Savior Jesus Christ, He will keep His promises. He will not allow you to grow weary, you will continue to walk in His presence and you will be victorious. He has promised. Carol, you are God's light at this moment. He is using you in mighty ways beyond your imagination. Trust Him, He is faithful. Remember you have an army of prayer warriors that He awakens even in the middle of the night. You are special...You are His child.

    Much love, Mary Ann Millett

  17. I love your "God stories". So cool that Andrew called you right then and there while at camp to let you know he was praying for you, the doctor that is a Christian, 11:00 procedure schedule that you "guessed"... but the coolest thing you wrote is how prayer can be the most loving thing we can do for someone. WOW! That really gave me such a deeper meaning about prayer. You are an awesome woman, Carol Marshall, and it amazes me how God is using you through this trial in your life. just amazing.... Love ya.
