A Message from Frank

Frank asked me to tell you all that Carol's pain escalated to such a high level Monday night she was transported by ambulance to Georgetown Hospital and admitted to the ICU. Her condition is listed as critical.
I ask your prayers for Frank and Carol's whole family at this difficult time. We will keep you updated about Carol's condition.

  18. Father,
Thank you for your unimaginable love for Carol. Thank you for the certainty in your words that promises we are not to worry regardless of the circumstances. Father I thank you that the fruit of your holy spirit living inside her is Peace. God I thank you that you have overcome the world, but still live in Carol's heart, and I thank you that your word promises that your peace you leave us. Father, in faith, I hold you to your promises. I know that pain and suffering is not from you, so I pray in the name of Christ that you honor her prayers time and time again for you to take away her pain and fill her with the kind of peace that only comes from you. This is promised in your word, contentment in whatever situation we are in.

and then if it is within your will turn your peace into spiritual, emotional, and physical healing. Strengthen her body as a temple of the Lord and light to this world once again.

In faith this is prayed, and let the angels interecede for your servant Carol.
    Amen

  27. Dear Marshalls --- all of you dear ones. Jeff and I have sent out prayer requests to our friends and family on Carol's behalf throughout this unknown journey that she has embarked upon with her illness. Today, I sent out another urgent request when we heard that Carol is still critical. My sister Judy, who has had the pleasure of meeting Carol and teaching Bible study at your home in Oak Park, sent me this precious prayer that expresses the heart of our entire family toward Carol and your family. Here is what she sent to me this afternoon:

"Lord be very close to Carol right now. Speak with her in the quiet place of her spirit. Encourage her heart. Encourage her family with the hope of eternity with You. Ease her pain and cause her family to cling to You and reject bitterness toward You, Lord. Use this moment to draw them to Yourself. Be glorified in this situation, Lord. And comfort Carols' friends with the firm assurance that she knows You, that You love her, and that You have a future for her that is glorious.
    In Jesus' name, Amen."

We KNOW that our Lord is in control, yet we seek understanding as to how to pray for each of you. Judy expressed our hearts here so honestly. Please know that we are seeking the face of the Almighty and Loving Lord in this time of searching and distress.

There WILL be the day when we will all sit together and have complete understanding as to the "why's and "when" of all that has transpired. Until then, we thank our precious Savior for His sacrifice on the cross that afforded us all the right to become the children of the King for eternity! God is Good --- all the time, no matter what. Love, J and J

  31. "O, Jesus, Calvary seems so distant in time and space, but Your friend, Carol, is sharing it right now. These sufferings seem so lengthy and so futile, but in Your eyes they are of infinte value. Carol has suffered patiently for numerous days and finds no relief. Please let drops of Your Precious Blood fall on Your child to bring healing. As Carol continues to wait for complete healing let this time be used to draw closer to You. Let it be a retreat time spent in union with you."

  34. Dear Carol and Family,
As I think and pray for all of you, my heart is at once heavy AND lightened~ heavy with sadness for the burden you bear, but lightened with the confidence we share in God. I posted something the other day in response to one of the other blogs, and I'm re-posting it here- as it is the affirmation of that confidence that unites us as fellow believers: "Our Maker has His ways that are unknown to us--things we cannot fathom but we, nevertheless, embrace with trust and faith. We KNOW that He loves us, we KNOW that we belong to Him, and we KNOW that our ultimate good is always His intention. Because of those things, we can rest from worry and fear; we can lay everything at His feet and have confidence that He holds us in the palm of His mighty hand. How amazing that the Creator of all things reaches out to us with His love and offers us eternity with Him! Surely, "No eye has seen, no hear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him." Carol, my friend, I pray that you are strengthend by His Word, nourished with His presence, and calmed by His mighty love as you go through this journey."
These words are my prayer and my heart for you all~

    With much love,
    Carolyn Arneson

  35. Carol,

    Psalm 91
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,my God, in whom I trust."

3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day..."

    Your sister in Christ,
    Lou

  37. Carol,

We are thinking about you and wanted to send you a prayer to St. Peregrine. I hope you feel all the love surrounding you and your family.

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called "The Mighty," "The Wonder-Worker," because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.

For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fibre of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favoured with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.

Please pray for Carol and let her feel your power and guidance. Please look after her family.

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.
    Amen.

Keeping you in our prayers. God Bless You Carol - Love Bernie

  39. Dear Carol,

While I only knew you through get-togethers with my family (Aunt Patty and Uncle Jerry) and gatherings of that sort, even from these interactions it was not hard to see what a great person you are. Especially by keeping up with this blog, I have been able to see the enormous amount of faith that you have. You have truly been an inspiration to me, and most likely to everyone else who has read this blog.

If anything happens, you will be missed greatly, even by someone like me who has only been able to have a few interactions with you. Thank you for being God's light in this world.
